Staircase Timer Wiring Diagram – Using On Delay Timer And Relay

Today I am sharing a staircase timer wiring diagram. In this post, you will complete learning how to use an on-delay timer as a staircase timer with a finder 8-pin relay. In today’s staircase wiring with a timer diagram. I use an on-delay timer which mostly uses for a star delta connection, an 8-pin relay, and push-button switches.

Staircase Timer Wiring Diagram – Staircase connection with timer

In the below staircase timer wiring diagram, I have shown 2 8-pin relay sockets, an on-daily timer, an 8-pin finder type relay, 2 push button switches, a light bulb, and a wiring connection.
In the below wiring diagram, I have shown also the star delta i.c timer wiring diagram. And 8 pin finder relay wiring diagram. In the below wiring connection, I use the on-delay timer as the staircase timer. In the below staircase timer wiring, the relay is used as holding the current device. When someone pushes the push button the relay timer and relay operate and the light switch is on. But when the timer completes the time the timer off the relay and the relay reset the timer.
So if you want to ON a machine for a specific time then you can use the below connection for the motor.

The above staircase wiring with the timer diagram is very to understand. However, if you have any questions then you can use the below comments section. Also, read the below post…

Why do I use 8 pin relay with a timer?

In the above staircase timer wiring diagram, I use the 8-pin finder relay. So I can switch off any device by using the timer why I use a relay in the above circuit diagram.
When operating the timer. The timer changes the normally close to open circuit in on delay timer but this timer did not switch off. In other words, the timer did not reset automatically. So in the above case, we need to reset the timer automatically when the specific timer is over. So I use the relay as a holding current to relay and as a reset for the timer.
Now I hope you completely understood how to use a relay as a reset switch with a timer, and the staircase timer wiring diagram. Stay tuned with us… And Take care.

Thank you sir for your simple but very useful posts with excellent diagrams. But you need to improve your English, sir. Mistakes in almost every line of your posting doesn't match the quality and technical excellence of your postings.

What about if l require an emergency stop to be in the circuit? Where is it wired into? I have a scenario where a pushbutton timer is required to operate a spa for a 15min period and there is an existing emergency stop beside the pushbutton up near the spa. In the basement below l have the spa equipment and an existing relay that operates them when the pushbutton is currently pressed by a guest.
