Ceiling fan Capacitor Wiring Connection Diagram

Today I am here to tell you about ceiling fan capacitor wiring or ceiling fan capacitor connection. In this post, I will completely guide you about the connection of a capacitor or how to connect a capacitor to a ceiling fan step by step. But before installing a capacitor to the fan, first we deuces some related and important things with this topic.

How to Ceiling fan capacitor wiring Connection

The ceiling fan capacitor wiring has become easy if you know about the start, run, and common connection in fan wires. As you know that ceiling fan has 3 wires which come out from winding. In this wire, we connect the electric power supply and capacitor. But the problem is which one is for the capacitor and which one is for the direct power supply.
This is too easy to find out the correct wires and connection by reading the following articles.

Also, read below:

How to wire a Ceiling fan with Dimmer Switch and a one-way switch?

How to wire a speed control switch for a ceiling fan
How to replace the capacitor in the ceiling fan with a speed controller

Note that the refrigerator compressor terminals start, run and common finding method is the same because the refrigerator compressor also has a single phase motor, and the ceiling fan also a single or one-phase motor.

Now you find out the fan start, run, and common by using the part 1 tutorial, now let’s see how to connect or instill the capacitor.

ceiling fan capacitor wiring diagram

In the above ceiling fan capacitor wiring diagram, I have shown a symbol diagram of the fan/motor winding, in which I have shown Start, run, and common wires. I connect the common wire connection with one connection connector and then I connect the Run wire to the other wire connector as I have shown in the above diagram with a blue color line.
After that, I get a connection from the 2nd wire connector to the fan capacitor where I connect the Running winding wire (Blue). Then I connect the 2nd wire or connection of the fan capacitor (2uf to 3.5uf)  to the Starting winding wire(red color).
At last, I connect the incoming power supply which was controllable and got it from the dimmer switch and one-way switch.
I hope after the ceiling fan capacitor wiring diagram and post you will easily wire a ceiling fan.

i have an old fan.its rpm is lesser.if i connect two condenser in parallel … what will be happened?
does the fan-coil get damaged ? …or the speed (rpm)of the fan become higher ?

Set ur dmm in ohm mode and test resistances. The resistance between Start and run coil is highest. This way u can find the common wire.
    Now common-start resistance > common-run resistance.

Dear you can find out the start , run and common wire by using an Ohm meter or a multi meter which have an ohm testing option. However for complete guide click on the below link which help you to understand. In the link post i did not shown a fan and i shown a compressor but the finding of start run and common of ceiling fan and single phase compressor is same.
    kindly visit the below link.

Dear in some case of fan rpm lesser are capacitor weak or the incoming voltage are low. If you voltage is full and fixed regarding fan then use a new capacitor. If the old capacitor is 2 uf then use 2.5 or 3 uf and if the voltage is low then if your volt capacitor is 2 uf then use a new 2 uf capacitor with old cap in parallel.

Dear if you have use two 6 uf capacitor in series then 6+6 = 3uf or if you fan is design for 220 Volts and incoming volts is 150 then you can use the 4.7uf. However the best option to try a 2 uf capacitor.
